A protecting hand surely makes the best shelter ?
That’s the idea that guided our group of 5 during our very first intensive studio in architecture school. The challenge of the studio was to make a shelter using a cut and slide technique to assemble pieces of cardboard.

The three middle fingers are movable to vary the extent and height of the shelter. Even though we were skeptical of the durability of the joints, the zip-ties holding them lasted long enough !
The thumb and pinky fingers are made to be seated on.
Looking back at that project, I am very fond of what we made, and thoroughly impressed by the modelling and rendering of the project !
