The workshop aimed to make a inflatable structure. We worked in groups of 10. We had access to the specific plastic type as well as ropes, to fixate our structure.
We almost immediately opposed the tenderness of the skin of a breathable structure to the constraining and rough textures of the ropes. Therefore, we developped a narrative centered around the japanese bondage art of kinbaku.
The material used is a biodegradable plastic. It comes in rolls, and can be glued through heatsealing. It is impossible to create a sealed inflatable structure with this plastic. The structure is therefore inflated using an air blower.
